Junior Report April 2012

Hi everyone

The season has begun again for 2012. Hope everyone is re-joining what promises to be a fantastic year ahead of us. Us juniors have already played our first junior league game of the season against Oak Park. Unfortunately we could only manage to field 5 players due to county commitments and other issues. But the players who played gave it their very best efforts. Our team was Matt Vaughan who did very well especially when giving 8 shots and won 2up, then was me giving 7 shots and I managed to scramble a 1up win, next was our leading lady Annabel Smith who gave it her best but unfortunately couldn’t quiet finish it off losing 2dn, then was little Mickey who plays once every blue moon but none the less played very well again but couldn’t quiet finish it off loosing 3 and 1 but still a great effort. Last but defiantly not least was Patrick Bush who played in his first junior match and gave it an a amazing effort considering the nerves he must have felt. He played very well but unfortunately came up against a top form junior loosing 4and 2 but still a great experience and a good addition to the team. So unfortunately a 4-2 loss but with only 5 players a marvellous effort from the team!

Thanks!

Tom Vaughan (Junior Captain)

We are also planning a 9 hole warm up on Sunday 18th March in the afternoon. Everyone is welcome including all the newer members, so look out for details on the notice board in the changing rooms.

I am looking forward to seeing you all soon

All the best

Junior Report July 2011

Well it has been a good year so far!

We had another victorious home win, this time against Test Valley. Although their team came with one player missing our team played there socks off and finished the match with a resounding win 5-1 so well played everyone.

As Emily had no opposition I decided to challenge her only to get thrashed 6 and 5. Kids of today have no respect for us oldies……….Nice one Emily.

The organiser match played by Paul and Peter ended in a half so no bragging rights won or lost.

As a result of this match Bishopswood are top of the league so well played to you all.

The next match was against Oak Park away on the 19th June. On the day of the match we were advised the tee time had been brought forward by an hour and a half which meant I could not track down one of my players and had to compete with one player short. Oak Park is not an easy course to play but our players pulled out all the stops and managed to draw 3-3 so well done team.

On Sunday 10th August Alex and Tom will be represent the club in the Jacobs Jigger at Brockenhurst Manor. Good luck to them.

The next Junior match is on the 17th July which is an away fixture at Donnington Valley. So please get your names down as soon as possible. Also we are organising a few Junior Medals during the summer holidays so look out for these which will be advertised in the junior section on the notice boards.

Don’t forget play well but more important “have fun”!

Cheers Lee
